Conference Critical infrastructure protection in the context of EURO 2012 - report
On 08-10 November 2011 in Debrzyno was held conference Critical infrastructure protection in the context of EURO 2012. Organizers of the event were EOD Technicians Training Centre at JAKUSZ company in Kościerzyna and the Military Institute of Armour & Automotive Technology from Sulejówek. Special guest of the conference was col. Jerzy Rutkowski. The RAPORT-wto magazine has taken media patronage over the conference.
In the conference took part more than 50 specialists in the protection of mass events, hazardous materials and methods for them neutralization. Among the guests of the conference were representatives of the Internal Security Agency, the Government Protection Bureau, Border Guard, the Departments of Emergency Management at Regional Offices, the Regional Directorate of Environment, the Association of Polish EOD Specialists, Wroclaw University of Life Sciences, the Naval Command, Maritime Office, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, Military Property Agency, Institute of Industrial Organic as well as entrepreneurs dealing with hazardous materials and independent experts.
During the conference were presented 25 presentations dedicated to the specifics of hazardous materials, the ways for their disposal, the threats connected with mass events, emergency procedures and solutions ensuring the safety of participants of mass events and also security services.
Experts gathered at the conference agreed that stands before us, as the organizer of one of the biggest sporting events in the world, a huge challenge and we must do our best to prepare for all threats possible during UEFA 2012.
Moreover, during the conference Mr. Bogdan Jakusz, CEO of JAKUSZ company was awarded the medal for innovation and many years of involvement in activities aimed to improving widely understood safety by representatives of the Association of Polish EOD Specialists, along with the president Mr. Leszek Artemiuk.
After the theoretical part of the conference guests were invited to the JAKUSZ company, where they could see the process of disposal of explosives subject to environmental requirements, explosion containment vessels and container depots for transport and storing hazardous materials as well as visit the museum of UXO and misfired ammunition at EOD TTC.
